Ammar Zoni Moved To Nusakambangan Super Maximum Prison

JAKARTA - Actor Ammar Zoni along with five other high risk inmates (high risk) from Jakarta were transferred to Nusakambangan Island on Thursday, October 16. This step is part of the firm action of the Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjenpas) against prisoners involved in narcotics trafficking cases.

This transfer was confirmed by the Head of Sub-Directorate for Cooperation of the Directorate General of Corrections, Rika Aprianti. According to him, this policy is a tangible manifestation of the government's commitment to eradicate drug trafficking from within correctional institutions.

"This is proof that the warning of the Minister (Immigration and Corrections) and the Director General (Pemasy) is serious, that anyone involved in drug trafficking will be dealt with," said Rika in her statement, Thursday, October 16.

The group that brought Ammar Zoni and five other inmates arrived in Nusakambangan at 07.43 WIB. They were then immediately placed in the Super Maximum Security Karang Anyar Penitentiary, one of the prisons with the strictest level of security in Indonesia.

"Like other high risk inmates who were transferred to Nusakambangan, they will also be placed in the Maximum and Maximum Security Prison," Rika continued.

In this prison, Ammar Zoni and other inmates will undergo a super maximum security and coaching program. This policy is not only aimed at breaking the chain of drug trafficking, but also as an intensive coaching effort.

"It is hoped that this step can change their behavior to better inmates in accordance with the goals of the Correctional system," concluded Rika.
