The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Fadli Zon, who was present to close the event, emphasized that cinema is a universal language that unites mankind.

"It is a great honor to be at the Jakarta World Cinema 2025, a festival that is growing rapidly and has proven itself to be one of the most dynamic cinema platforms in the world," said Fadli.

According to Fadli, the power of the story in films can exceed geographical and cultural boundaries, bridge differences and enrich empathy. He praised the hard work of the organizers, curators, filmmakers, sponsors, and viewers who made the JWC 2025 so lively.

During September 27 to October 4, the CGV Grand Indonesia turned into the center of the world cinema marathon from inspiring dramas and documentaries, to imaginary animations. Big names like Joachim Trier and Ry alwayssuke Hamaguchi performed with talented young filmmakers from various countries.

He hopes that festivals like this will become the gateway for Indonesian films to the global stage from Rotterdam, Cannes, to Venice. The government, he said, continues to strengthen the film industry through lab films, matching funds schemes, to international co-productions.

The closing of the JWC 2025 was marked by the screening of the film It Was Just an Accident by the legendary Iranian director, Jafar Archery, and attended by top filmmakers such as Joko Anwar, Kamila Andini, to Cinta Laura.
