JAKARTA - Director from Thailand, Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit visited Jakarta after almost a decade. His latest film, Human Resource premiered at the Jakarta World Cinema (JWC) 2025 film festival.
He admitted that he was happy because he had not come to meet Indonesian audiences for a long time. He himself knows that the interest in his films is highly anticipated, including his latest film.
"I feel happy to see that JWC can present films from world film festivals. In my own country, it is difficult to find a festival like this," said Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit on Saturday, September 27.
Furthermore, he saw similar responses to both European and Asian audiences for Human Resource. This film airs at several world film festivals such as Venice, Busan, Zurich and so on.
"I think because the audience came from different cultures, so when I went to Venice I shared my point of view with the audience and the story reflects on the culture of work in Europe. We so know their opinion from their culture," Nawapol told VOI.
"When I returned to Asia, there was a different point of view, but so I know that the point of view is different from the audience in Europe," he continued.

The 41-year-old director also explained that the film Human Resource is his new effort to invite viewers to think about life.
"More than the message I want to convey, I want to ask the audience a question about the meaning of life, the meaning of death, and I think that's the point. Sometimes in our lives, we don't think about that, but for me this is important. Hopefully this film can be a two-hour space for viewers to think about themselves, "he explained.
The film Human Resource tells the story of Fren (Prapamonton Eiamchan) who is pregnant and works as HR in a company, looking for new employees. Fren conducted interviews with various prospective employees while starting to think about his life as a wife, future mother, and a woman.
The film Human Resource premiered at the Jakarta World Cinema (JWC) 2025 film festival which was held from September 27 to October 4, 2025 at CGV Grand Indonesia, Central Jakarta.
