Jakarta World Cinema 2025 Officially Opened, Present Global Films

JAKARTA - The Jakarta World Cinema (JWC) 2025 film festival officially begins with the opening ceremony which will be held at the CGV Grand Indonesia on Saturday, September 27.

This event marks that film festivals will be held over the next week from various Indonesian films to global films.

This event was attended by a number of well-known Indonesian actors, actresses, and directors, including Vino G. Bastian, Della Dartyan, Adzana Ashel, Olivia Jensen, Adhiyat, Ifa Isfansyah, Joko Anwar, and Razka Robby Ertanto.

JWC 2025 also brought in several international filmmakers, one of which was Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit, a director from Thailand who was present to present his latest film, Human Resource.

The film managed to get a positive response from viewers in Indonesia, as evidenced by tickets that were sold out for 5 views at JWC 2025.

"This JWC is very interesting, and I am jealous, because JWC presents the best films from the best world film festivals. In my own country, it is difficult to find a festival like this," said Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit.

Joachim Trier's Sentintal Value is the opening film from JWC 2025. This film received the Grand Prix award at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.

Sentintal Value tells the story of brothers Nora (Renate Reinsve) and Agnes (Inga Ibsdotter) who are forced to return to communicate with their father Gustav (Stellan Skarsgard) who was once a famous director.

Jakarta World Cinema 2025 will last until October 4, 2025, presenting dozens of international films that can be accessed directly.

In addition to offline airing on CGV Grand Indonesia, this festival can also be watched online on KlikFilm from September 4 to October 4, 2025, so that film lovers from various regions can still enjoy a series of excellent films.
