He considered Indonesia's participation in the 2025 Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) as the world's recognition of the quality of the national cinema as well as strengthening Indonesia's position in the global film arena.

Indonesia is present not just participants, but creative forces that contribute to the main programs of festivals, industrial forums, and international cooperation. The support of the Ministry of Culture, including through the National Talent Management (MTN) program of Cultural Arts, provides space for young talents to achieve international recognition. We want filmmakers to have continuous support, from capacity development to access to global networks," said Director General of Development, Utilization, and Culture Development Ahmad Mahendra.

Six Indonesian films appear at BIFF 2025: Motherless Tomorrow (Mothernet) by Ho Wi Dong, Pangku (On Your Lap) by Reza Rahadian, Rangga & Cinta by Riri Riza, Sekat-Selat (throughout These Cages) by Aaron Pratama, The Fox King, Indonesian Collaboration Malaysia by Woo Ming Jin, and Badarawuhi in Penari Village. Four of them performed world premieres, marking global recognition of Indonesian filmmakers.

World trust is increasingly seen through the role of filmmakers in international forums. Producer Yulia Evina Bhara was selected as the judge of the official BIFF 2025 competition and was a speaker of the Cinematic Connections panel: Secrets of Successful Asia-Europe Co-Productions. Other Indonesian professionals filled discussions at the Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM), such as Mia Santosa (Visinema), Sigit Prabowo (Cinepoint), FX Iwan (Jagartha), Linda Gozali (JAFF Market), and Gugi Gumilang (Hot Docs).

Film regeneration is increasingly evident through three young talents 'Vincent Avelio Sentosa, Miss Ica, and Bela Nabila' who were selected in the Busan Platform program. In the documentary line, two Indonesian projects, Armin Septiexan's Oma and Luthfi Muhammad's Sandan Love Garden, appeared at the Documentary WIP Showcase.

Momentum was strengthened by the signing of the Cinepoint and JAFF Market collaborations to expand the distribution network for Southeast Asian films. Actors Reza Rahadian appreciated the support of the Ministry of Culture and BIFF. "I'm happy to be back to BIFF as a director. Government support provides new energy so that we don't just make films, but bring Indonesia's name with pride," he said.

Actor Vandy Woo added, "Support for MTN Cultural Arts is not just a ticket to the festival, but an acknowledgment that our story has a place in the hearts of global audiences."

Indonesia's participation in BIFF 2025 is expected to expand international cooperation and strengthen the growing national film ecosystem, in line with the Ministry of Culture's mission to present culture as a nation's strength.
