Ayu reveals Yuling Hoo & Silvy Prajogo from Le Ciel Design chose three different types of metal combined into one. The three colors are rustic gold, copper or bronze, and black gold to create an ombre effect on the dress. Scales are made of hammers and bangs.
Apparently, the dress has more than 5,000 scales to make the costume look more elegant. Ayu also explained some of the complexities in making the komodo dragon costume.
"The dress consists of over 5,000 unique scales to create the most luxurious yet realistic approach to costumes. The most complicated, however, is the mechatronics aspect, where Komodo's handmade headpiece deals with robotic systems that combine motors, sensors and microcontrollers. The necklaces and gloves that light up are made with LED controllers," he said.
