Big Labubu Steals Attention At The Red Carpet Emmy Awards 2025, Who Is The Figure In It?

JAKARTA - One of the uniquest moments on the red carpet of the 77th Emmy Awards 2025 is the appearance of a human-sized Labubu figure who immediately stole the attention. So who is the figure behind the adorable Labubu costume?

The identity behind the costume was finally revealed. He is Joella, the star of RuPaul's Drag Race. At the 2025 Emmy Awards which was held on Sunday, September 14, 2025 in Los Angeles, Joella appeared totally in a hairy suit resembling a viral doll from Pop Mart.

Not only that, this 25-year-old woman also completed her appearance with a Chinese food box bag to emphasize the impression of playful. Through his Instagram account, Joella shared photos and videos of his appearance, including detailed facial makeup which is referred to as 'Labubu Slayer Edition.'

On Pop Mart's official website, Labubu is described as a naughty but cute monster with pointed ears, a charming nosy smile, and very sharp teeth.

Not only performing alone, Joella also had time to pose with fellow alumni of Drag Race, Kori King who came in Michael Jackson-style costumes. Both appearances reaped many reactions from fans.

Both Joella and Kori King are participants in the 17th season of RuPaul's Drag Race. This year, the event was nominated in eight Emmy categories.

Since its first airing in 2009, Drag Race has collected 29 trophies, including the Outstanding Reality Competition Program award which he won in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2023.

RuPaul himself shared the secret of his success in an interview with People in 2024.

"Don't be too serious about living life," he said.

He also recalled the message he had received from a drag queen named Lakesha Lucky when he was still starting a career in Atlanta in the 1980s.

"You were born naked, the rest is just drag." he said.
