Fariz RM Sentenced To 10 Months In Prison And A Fine Of Rp800 Million Related To Narcotics Cases

JAKARTA - Senior musician Fariz Rustam Munaf alias Fariz RM was officially sentenced by the Panel of Judges at the South Jakarta District Court. He was found guilty of possession of narcotics class one.

"Declaring that the defendant Fariz Rustam Munaf alias Fariz RM was proven above to have been legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a criminal act jointly without the right to possess narcotics class one in the form of plants and not plants as in the cumulative alternative indictment," said the Panel of Judges in a verdict hearing on Thursday, September 11.

For his actions, the panel of judges sentenced him to 10 months in prison and a fairly large fine of Rp800 million.

"The defendant Fariz Rustam Munaf alias Fariz RM was sentenced to 10 months in prison and a fine of Rp. 800 million provided that if the fine was not paid, it would be replaced with imprisonment for 2 months," continued the Panel of Judges.

In addition, Fariz RM's detention period will be reduced from the sentence imposed. The panel of judges also determined the evidence confiscated from this case.

"Determining the period of arrest and detention that has been served by the defendant is deducted entirely from the sentence imposed. Keeping the defendant in custody," he continued.

"Determining evidence in the form of three transparent plastic clips each containing narcotics class one form non-plants weighing gross 0.89 grams which are included in plastic containers," he explained.

Not only that, a number of Fariz RM's personal items were also confiscated.

"One brown formal bag with a black symbol containing marijuana with a net weight of 4.76 grams of lab results left. One unit of black Oppo A60 cellphone, one unit of black Samsung A20 brand cellphone, was confiscated for destruction. One BCA ATM Blue Debit Passport card number 537941 was returned to the defendant," he concluded.
