JAKARTA - Singer, and actress Janelle Monae are rumored to be joining the sequel to Knives Out.

The news was released after the previous Dave Bautista and Edward Norton, the first two names mentioned in the project. Still directed by Rian Johnson, it is not yet known whether the cast of Knives Out is entirely different from the first part.

Known in the first part, Knives Out stars Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Christopher Plummer, Michael Shannon, Toni Collette, and Daniel Craig.

Craig is projected to reprise the role of detective Benoit Blanc in his first film.

Similarly, the synopsis of the story is still kept tight but it is suspected that the story still focuses on the mysterious murder. Netflix itself has not confirmed anything.

Janelle Monae has starred in numerous films and series, including Moonlight, Hidden Figures, and Antebellum.

Previously, Netflix bought the sequel rights to the Knives Out film franchise. Her first film, Lionsgate, received an Oscar nomination.

Knives Out's own continuation plan was also announced by Rian Johnson. He said the script for his next film was being worked on shortly after Knives Out was released.
