Reason Behind Epy Kusnandar's Will Revealed By Son: It's Not A Health Problem

JAKARTA - The public was shocked by Epy Kusnandar's statement, which sounded like a will, sparking concerns about his health.

However, his son, Damar Rizal Marzuki, clarified that the statement was more influenced by his father's deepening understanding of the character he was playing, rather than a serious health issue.

According to Damar, Epy Kusnandar is the type of actor who continues to develop his character even off the set.

"When one is involved in a take, one role is always the one being developed, so that one doesn't stray from the character. When that statement came out, my father was playing that character, a character who always has wills and testaments," Damar explained.

He added that age and the loss of loved ones also act as natural reminders for his father, just like any other human being.

"Maybe my father feels that at this age, he's seeing his friends, his close friends, and before that, his mother..." he said.

Damar emphasized that his father's health is currently fine.

"Regarding his health, he's actually been healthy since yesterday," he emphasized.

He also considered the request to be buried in his hometown a natural one, driven by longing and reinforced by the character he was playing.

"Actually, it wasn't an unusual request... it was natural, perhaps because he missed his hometown, missed his mother... plus the character. So, it carried over into the character," he concluded.
