JAKARTA – To celebrate International Cat Day, which falls on August 8, 2025, Kucingku, a cat food brand from Kino Indonesia, is holding a street feeding program as a way to show its concern for stray cats. This initiative is part of Kino Indonesia's concrete implementation of its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitment, which continues to drive positive impacts for the surrounding community and environment. The program will run from July to August 2025 and will involve the active participation of employees as volunteers, as well as collaboration with cat-loving communities around Kino Indonesia's operational areas.
"As a cat lover, I believe that every act of kindness, no matter how small, can have a significant impact on the surrounding environment. Through this activity, we want to provide a space for our employees and the cat-loving community to directly engage in concrete actions that reflect empathy and care for the animals around us. This initiative also aligns with Kucingku's commitment as a cat food brand, which focuses not only on providing quality nutrition but also on cat welfare," said Jordy Young, Kucingku Brand Manager.
In Jakarta, this activity took place at several locations, including Blok M Melawai on July 26th and Epicentrum Kuningan on August 2nd. Meanwhile, in the operational areas of Kino Indonesia's factories, Cikande Serang, Cikembar Sukabumi, Sayung Demak, and Pandaan, East Java, it was carried out simultaneously on August 2nd and 9th. Volunteer enthusiasm was high, with over 150 people, including Kino Indonesia employees and communities such as Jakarta Cat Lover, Meowlawai, Pekunsmar, and Sahabat Kucing Pasuruan, taking part. Together, they successfully distributed over 800 kg of food to stray cats around the activity locations.
The activity was carried out in an orderly and responsible manner. The volunteers were divided by region and then walked through the mapped areas, carrying food in hygienic containers. Feeding was carried out carefully to ensure the cats' comfort and avoid stress. Furthermore, the team selectively administered flea and worm medication to cats that were approachable, as a form of basic health care. During the activity, volunteers ensured that public activities were not disrupted and that the surrounding area was kept clean.
During this activity, volunteers distributed Kucingku products, which are specially formulated to meet the nutritional needs of cats based on Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) standards and are recommended by veterinarians. Enriched with high protein, vitamins, minerals, and balanced nutrition, Kucingku helps support the immune system, maintain digestive health, and maintain healthy, shiny skin and coat. Kucingku also contains antioxidants, is free of artificial colors, and has the ideal energy content to support cats' daily activities.
"We welcome this initiative. The presence of Kucingku as a brand that demonstrates concern for the welfare of stray cats is a significant moral support for the community, while also strengthening collaboration in building a more caring and animal-friendly environment," said Shinta Saraswati, a representative from the Jakarta Cat Lovers Community, who participated in this activity.
Street cats are an often overlooked part of the city ecosystem, yet they live side by side with humans and need attention, especially when it comes to access to food. Through this street feeding activity, Kucingku, along with the cat lover community, strives to provide assistance to these cats and at the same time encourage public awareness and care for animals in their environment.
Going forward, Kucingku has expressed its commitment to making the street feeding program a sustainable initiative. Furthermore, Kucingku will continue to expand its collaboration with animal lover communities in various cities as part of its long-term commitment to cat welfare.
"As a brand, we are not only focused on providing the best nutrition to support cat health, but are also committed to being part of a movement that has a positive impact on the environment and society. We believe that a brand's role extends beyond its products, but also extends to how it can provide meaning, touch lives, and contribute to the preservation of the ecosystem in which we live," concluded Jordy.
