Reaping Foreign Media Highlights, Ora Beach Is Called A Hidden Tropical Heaven In Maluku

JAKARTA - Ora Beach in Central Maluku Regency is now becoming the world's attention. The beach is highlighted by foreign media and is referred to as a hidden tropical paradise.

Singaporean media, The Straits Times, reviewed Ora Beach, whose beauty is said to be no less than various other popular tourist destinations in the world. The media compares Ora Beach with Bali, which is often the main destination for tourists visiting Indonesia.

In an article entitled Paradise Beaches Sit Empty as Indonesian Bets on Saturday Bali, The Straits Times highlighted that the Indonesian government places most tourism investments in Bali, while other places that have the potential to be like Ora Beach have minimal attention.

Ora Beach on Seram Island is framed with dramatic tropical vegetation and limestone cliffs. The water is like an aquarium and there are almost no influencers carrying smartphones," the media wrote, quoted on Monday, August 11, 2025.

Ora Beach is said to offer a calmer and more natural experience than Bali. The beach is called a tropical paradise in Maluku, with its natural beauty extraordinary and no congestion.

The privilege of Ora Beach lies in a blend of clear sea water, a tropical forest that is thick, and a towering mountain. All of these present an amazing landscape that is difficult to find elsewhere.

One of the main characteristics of Ora Beach is floating resorts built on the sea. Wooden booths standing on the water provide a unique and astonishing experience of staying overnight.

Regarding access to Ora Beach, tourists must take a flight to Ambon. Then cross by ferry for two hours to Seram Island, then continue the land trip for about an hour to reach Ora Beach.

With Ora Beach presenting extraordinary natural views and starting to be highlighted, a resort manager, Irgan Muddin, hopes that the government will pay more attention and increase connectivity in order to boost tourism in Maluku.

"The airport can be built on Seram Island, which allows domestic and international direct flights," concluded Irgan Muddin.
