TANGERANG The Expo Asia (HEXIA) helicopter was held again on August 20, 2025, in Cengkareng Heliport with a new spirit, providing a more innovative and inclusive experience for the helicopter and air transportation industry in the Asian region.
Entering its third year, HEXIA carries the theme 'Elevating the Industry, Transforming Sustainable Tomorrow' with the vision of becoming the epicenter of the growth and innovation of the helicopter industry in Asia.
"HEXIA is not just a platform, but an ecosystem that encourages innovation growth and cross-sectoral collaboration, ranging from business actors, industry leaders, stakeholders, to government and private representatives, both nationally and internationally," said T. Iskandar Muda, CEO of Heli Expo Asia.
"We have also opened HEXIA 2025 to the wider public, including families and students, so that we can see firsthand the development of air transportation technology, try joyflight, and get to know the helicopter industry better. Hopefully, this experience can build the interest of the younger generation in the world of aviation," added Iskandar.
This year, the exhibition will be held exclusively at the Helicopter Display Center (HDC) a special area located in the new Main Facility Building (MFB) building owned by Whitesky Aviation. This location was chosen to reflect high service standards as well as to represent long-term investments in the development of helicopter infrastructure in Indonesia.
As a form of support for this vision, Whitesky Aviation as the champion company in the helicopter and air transportation sector also facilitates the holding of exhibitions.
"The construction of MFB and HDC is not only intended to provide services with a standard 'sixth star' for industry players, but is also a form of our commitment to strengthening the modern and high standard helicopter infrastructure," said Ari Nurwanda, Chief Commercial Officer of Whitesky Aviation.
Indonesia as an archipelagic country with a variety of industries has a real need for flexible modes of transportation to reach difficult accessible areas. However, the use of helicopters is still not optimal. Through its participation in HEXIA, Whitesky Aviation wants to help introduce and educate business actors about smart and efficient air transportation solutions, in order to support productivity and connectivity in various sectors.
HEXIA 2025 will be enlivened by the presence of an eVTOL electric taxi company (electric take-off and landing) from Japan SKYDRIVE as a form of exploration of modern and efficient future air taxi technology.
The presence of SKYDRIVE at HEXIA 2025 is an important step in in introducing electric air taxi technology to visitors. As a pioneer in air transportation solutions, we see eVTOL as a more environmentally friendly and efficient future of mobility. We hope that SKYDRIVE participation can open up new insights for industry players and accelerate the adoption of this technology in the Asian region," said Ari Nurwanda, Whitesky Aviation's Chief Commercial Officer.
In addition, visitors have the opportunity to see firsthand the various advanced helicopters displayed, ranging from Bell 505 which is agile with a panoramic window, Garmin G1000HTM navigation system, and anti-noise headphones; Airbus ACH145 with spacious cabins, Helionix technology, rear cameras, and charger plugs; to Bell 429 which brings comfort to the business class through easy cabins, autopilot systems, and double engines for maximum performance.
During the five days of implementation, visitors can attend conference sessions with more than 30 speakers from within and outside the country, as well as enjoy more than 70 free helicopter flights offered during the event. The series of conferences will discuss three main themes: eVTOL (first day), Helicopter Emergency Medical Services / HEMS (second day), and Connectivity (third day).
This event is open to industry players, academics, communities, students, and general visitors. This makes HEXIA an inclusive platform for sharing insight, technology, and collaboration opportunities in the future helicopter and air transportation industries.
Support from Various Groups On separate occasions, Prof. Ir. Purnomo Yusgiantoro, MSc., MA, Ph.D., IPU, Presidential Special Advisor for Energy, expressed his appreciation for the initiative to organize HEXIA.
This Heli Expo not only displays helicopters as a mode of transportation, but also opens insights about the development of technology which is a game changer in this sector. Heli technology in the future is expected to support clean energy and play a role in various fields, from business to education. I think it is very useful for all of us to attend and take advantage of the 2025 Heli Expo.
Meanwhile, in terms of international academics, Dr. Jack Patel, Ed.D., MReAS, AcademicOfficer & Associate Professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Asia, highlighted the importance of HEXIA as a valuable experience for the younger generation.

"I think this is an extraordinary opportunity for us to get involved in it. It is an honor and a privilege for our students to get the industry exposed. An opportunity like this is very valuable because we don't always get it in other countries." (ADV)
