JAKARTA - Disney and Lucasfilm reached an agreement in a legal conflict with actress Gina Carano over the dismissal case from the production of The Mandalorian series.

Gina Carano, who played Cara Dune in the series, was fired from Disney in 2021 for her upload on social media. Carano then sued Disney in 2024 for material losses.

In the same year, Disney asked for a case termination because it was deemed inappropriate. Gina Carano replied by re-uploading social media user uploads that called the treatment of the Jewish community equal to Disney's treatment of people who have political views.

The judge then rejected Disney's request which was responded with gratitude by Gina Carano. He felt that what he was experiencing was very unfair.

"What happened to me is unacceptable, strange, abusive, and other things. It shouldn't have happened to me and it didn't happen to anyone going forward. Let it stop here," wrote Gina Carano.

Thursday, August 7, both parties agreed not to proceed with cases legally with information that was not disclosed to social media.

"Carano has always been respected by directors, co-stars, and staff and he is working hard to display his side and treat his colleagues with kindness and respect. With the end of the lawsuit, we look forward to working with Carano going forward," Disney and Lucasfilm said in a statement.

Gina Carano also shared the news through social media. He wrote, 'I reached an agreement with Disney/Lucasfilm which I believe is the best result for all parties. I hope this can provide recovery.'

"I would like to thank Elon Musk, the man I never met who did a good job by funding my lawsuit. Thank you Musk for the protection and did not sue back," wrote Gina Carano.

Lucasfilm has a spin-off project from The Mandalorian entitled The Mandalorian and Grogu which is scheduled to air in May 2026. The film is played by Pedro Pascal, Sigourney total, and Jeremy Allen White.
