Online Game Sarat Kekerasan Anak, KPAI Desak Pemblokiran Roblox Hingga Free Fire

JAKARTA - The phenomenon of online games with violent content is increasingly worrying. Actions against each other, bloody fights, and violent verbal interactions often appear in popular digital games that are accessed by children.

This kind of content is considered to affect their mental behavior and health if consumed without supervision.

The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) also encouraged the government to take firm steps, including blocking a number of games that were considered dangerous. "As the cluster of children victims of psychological violence at KPAI, I strongly agree that the government blocks several online games containing elements of violence," said KPAI member Diyah Puspitarini, as quoted by ANTARA.

Diyah revealed that in 2023 KPAI had sent a letter to the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) to block online games with elements of violence and online gambling. Some of them are Roblox and Free Fire.

He emphasized that the game not only triggers aggressive behavior, but has also been linked to tragic cases. "In fact, there are cases of children ending their lives after previously being addicted to Roblox," he said.

A similar warning was previously conveyed by the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu'ti, who forbade students to play Roblox because it was considered to contain many violent scenes. "If you play cellphones, don't watch or play with fighting scenes or bad words. Those who play blocks (Roblox) don't play, because they're not good," he said.
