Dinsos Tapin Beautifies Puspa Raya Heroes' Grave As A Historical Education Room

JAKARTA - Ahead of the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the Social Service of Tapin Regency, South Kalimantan, held a revamping and cleaning activity at the Puspa Raya Heroes Cemetery complex.

This effort is carried out as part of the preservation of local historical sites as well as educational facilities for the younger generation.

Acting Head of the Tapin Social Service, Syafrudin, explained that this activity involved various social elements, including Community Social Workers (PSM), the Community Social Organization Association (IKSK), and field facilitators.

"Today we focus on cutting grass, cleaning areas, and painting a number of parts of the tomb. This activity will continue until August 17 so that the results are really maximal," he said in Rantau, as quoted by ANTARA.

Syafrudin revealed that some areas of Puspa Raya Heroes Cemetery do require more attention because they have not received comprehensive care for a long time.

He emphasized that the revamping of the tomb is not only a form of respect for the freedom fighters, but also creates a comfortable and educational space for the community.

"If the environment is clean and maintained, visitors will feel more comfortable. This place can be a means to remember the services of heroes as well as learn history," he added.

Syafrudin hopes that the maintenance of the tomb complex can be a routine activity, not just ahead of the commemoration of national holidays, so that the historical heritage of the struggle can be maintained from time to time.
