JAKARTA - Ryan Adriandhy presented the Jumbo concert: The Miracle of Music and Our Story, after a few months after the screening of the Jumbo film in theaters. The Jumbo film is now being asked to be the best-selling Indonesian film of all time with 10.1 million viewers.
Visinema as an intellectual property creator (IP) then tried to bring Jumbo to meet the audience with his concert. Jumbo Concert: The Miracle of Music and Our Story will be held exclusively on August 17, 2025 at the Beach City International Stadium, Ancol.
No longer as a director, the man who was born on June 15 had time to share a little story from the process of making a Jumbo concert and interesting things that only spectators could find in this concert.
"Anyway, what is clear is that it has entered the final stage, so we have intense rehearsals, we continue to improve all the elements that will be at the concert, both visual, sound, lighting, so it is very late stage," Ryan Adriandhy told VOI on Wednesday, August 6.
Ryan realized that the characters in the Jumbo film received attention in addition to the two main characters: Don (filed by Prince Poetiray) and Meri (Quinn Salman). Therefore, some of the voice actors of this film will premiere for the fans.
"There are some main casts from the Jumbo film coming and there are also some special appearances that are a surprise for those who come," Ryan said again.
As a creative director, Ryan tries to maintain the flow so that the combination of concerts with a few other concepts can be accepted by the audience. He said this concert was not about concerts but also a form of the Jumbo celebration to meet fans.
"We want to make something that all families want, so that at this concert it's not just a concert, not just a singer, not just a musician, a band but also interactive, there's a storytelling then there's a little role art," Ryan continued.
"Visual shocks, lighting games so that even when children come they see it not only song concerts continue to song but there is a live show that they can enjoy," he explained.
This first experience made Ryan experience his own challenges. Not entirely alone, he was assisted by trio Laleilmanino who was initiated as music director of this concert.
"Of course (the challenge) is because this is live entertainment, so I can't edit it. If it's a film, I can edit it, so how do I watch it from beginning to end together with all collaborators and everything that will be on stage, stage manager, Laleilmanino, all singers to be sure that we watch this, the emotions are maintained properly and the dynamics are not boring and entertainment for everyone," added the 35-year-old man.
On August 17 also meant to Visinema and Antara Suara because they coincided with Indonesian Independence. They present various competitions that can be found at the Jumbo concert so that the audience can live up to Independence in a new way.
"Because the moment coincided with Jumbo, I think it was the pride of Indonesia because something that could achieve such achievements and was carried out 100% with Indonesians. That day must be a holiday so that the family can get together," he said.
Jumbo film managed to occupy the best-selling Indonesian film of all time with a surprising audience. Airing in Lebaran, in fact Jumbo managed to dominate until the broadcast took place for more than a month. It did not stop there, Jumbo collaboration as an IP with various brands made Jumbo's name even more known.
"It was a surprise, it was more exciting, but what is clear is that Jumbo when it was initiated, it wasn't just one form, it wasn't just one film and it was proven that there was this concert, so we'll see in the future Jumbo will be something else," said Ryan Adriandhy.
Some time ago, he also revealed that the development of the second Jumbo film had also begun, but it was difficult to predict when the plan would be realized.
"We certainly have thoughts for (the second film) and have started creatively, think about where Jumbo's expansion story is because there are still many people in the first film that have not been explored, there are still many characters that have not been explored," Ryan explained.
"There are all kinds of points, like those who have watched the survey at the back, who turns out to be friends, they haven't been explored yet, so there are still many ways to look for the Jumbo story, it's still in the creative development process, so we're just waiting for it," he said.
On the same occasion, this first season of Alumi Stand Up Comedian Indonesia thanked the public for supporting it at this point. Ryan mentioned several things as the reason the Jumbo film was a success.
"I feel the content is indeed related, very close to our lives and a lot of nostalgia that adults may also look for, but the character's journey in it makes children's viewers feel heard, represented so that these two age groups both watch," said Ryan Adriandhy.
From outside the content, who doesn't feel lucky with #BuzzerJumbo is free. Of course I really feel grateful for everyone who finally supported Jumbo until she became number 1 in Indonesia," he continued.
More than just a concert, Ryan Adriandhy as a Jumbo designer also feels the movement of the Jumbo world which is starting to feel good online and when in the real world. This makes him feel Jumbo is not his, but belongs to all the audience and Jumbo fans.
"I think if it's suspected or not, of course it's not, but why is it that big because I think Jumbo is no longer just a film but a movement for a lot," Ryan said.
