In the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) of both in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 22, the Minister of Tourism Widiyanti said that various Indonesian traditions and cultures provide their own colors and meanings for Indonesian tourism that other countries do not have.
"Tradition is one of Indonesia's main strengths, the identity of the nation, our distinction from other countries, and a source of competitive advantage in tourism development," he said as quoted by ANTARA.
Thus, the wealth of tradition and culture must be packaged as secret as possible and this requires strong collaboration between various parties.
"We need to package this cultural wealth creatively and authenticly in order to attract tourists who not only come but also connect emotionally with Indonesia," he said.
The memorandum of understanding is also considered to open up various collaboration opportunities for the use of culture as an attraction for Indonesian tourism through cultural-based activities.

Minister of Culture Fadli Zon added that Indonesia's diversity is a strong potential and should be used as a driving force for tourism and the Indonesian economy.
