The Public Prosecutor Is Not Ready Yet, Fariz RM's Prosecution Session Is Postponed

JAKARTA - Fariz RM's attorney, Deolipa Yumara, said that his client's trial for alleged drug abuse cases was postponed.

Deolipa explained that this delay was because the demands from the public prosecutor (JPU) were not ready to be read out.

"The interest is that the agenda is postponed. Still in court, but later the prosecutor asks to postpone the reading of the charges. Why? Because the demands are not ready yet," said Deolipa Yumara at the South Jakarta District Court, Monday, July 21.

"The file, the document was made for prosecution, not yet ready. So later we will continue to trial, but indeed the prosecutor's agenda is asking for a postponement of the trial for prosecution," he continued.

Deolipa himself said that his party had discussed with Fariz RM regarding the defense for today's trial of charges.

"Talk more now. To talk about anything that can support pleas. So it has led to defense efforts. But we don't know what prosecutors demand," explained Deolipa Yumara.

Until now, Deolipa still hopes that his client will get rehabilitation because his position as a user is not the dealer as charged.

"Yes, of course, he must be rehabilitated because he is a user because it is a new rule, a new policy that has been clearly submitted to the head of BNN is also that users must be rehabilitated. So that's what we hope for," said Deolipa.

"Don't let the verdict in the trial area go against the expectations of the BNN, the expectations of many of us," he said.
