The Ministry Of Education Encourages Strategic Cooperation On Culture And Education Through Collaboration With The Jordan Embassy

JAKARTA Minister of Culture Fadli Zon received an honorary visit from the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Hasyimiyah Jordan to Indonesia, HER Sudqi Al Omoush, at the Ministry of Culture Building, Jakarta, Monday, July 21. This meeting became an important moment in strengthening strategic cooperation between Indonesia and Jordan, especially in the fields of culture and education.

Ambassador Sudqi invited Indonesia to participate in the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts 2026, an international cultural event that strengthens the network between nations through cultural diplomacy. He also conveyed plans for Jordan's presence at the 2025 Chandi Summit which will be held by the Ministry of Culture in Bali in September.

Minister Fadli Zon welcomed the initiative. "We are open to cross-cultural, both traditional and contemporary cooperation. Indonesia is ready to build strategic partnerships in the cultural sector," he said.

Fadli also revealed the plan to draft a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of culture as part of preparations for King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein's visit to Indonesia. "We want this cooperation to become a bridge between people, not just relations between countries," he added.

The meeting also discussed concrete collaborations, such as exhibitions of cultural artifacts, promotion of historical sites, to community mobility incentives in accessing cultural heritage. The Jordanian Ambassador also emphasized his country's commitment to supporting Indonesian students in Jordan. They will be treated equivalently to local residents in terms of administration and the campus admission system.

In addition, Jordan also implemented an inclusive cultural visa policy that foreign tourists can access various historical sites for free. "We want the world to get to know more about the wealth of Jordanian civilization," said Sudqi.

Also attending to accompanying Minister Fadli Zon, Director General of Diplomacy and Culture Cooperation Endah Tjahjani, Special Staff of Rengganis Annis, and Expert Staff of Anindita Kusuma Listya.

This meeting is not just a ceremony. This is a real step to strengthen cultural diplomacy as well as open up opportunities for strategic new collaboration between two countries rich in history and cultural heritage.
