JAKARTA - Actress Bunga Zainal has vented her disappointment with the West Jakarta District Court judge's decision on the alleged fraudulent investment case which cost her up to Rp6.2 billion.
The reason is, after the trial trip, the two defendants in this case, AAACD and SFSS were only sentenced to 2 years in prison.
"The panel of judges who tried case number 406/Pid.B/2025/PN.Jkt.Brt with the defendants Anak Agung Ayu Candra Dewi (AAACD) and Sofan Fahrizal Suryahansyah (SFSS). Bunga admitted that he was confused that the panel of judges gave the light sentence only for reasons of having children and parents who had to be treated.
"Is the punishment in our country as simple as this sir? Is it possible on humanitarian grounds and other reasons such as having a child and a parent who must be treated and then the verdict for the fraud that I experienced only fell in 2 years?" asked Bunga.
Bunga's frustration peaked even more considering the value of the loss he felt was not small and the punishment given was deemed not to have a deterrent effect on the perpetrators.
"Is it legal to be as simple as our country? Meanwhile, the amount of losses that I have suffered cannot necessarily be replaced in just 2 years! Where is the deterrent effect obtained by the perpetrators of criminal acts?" said Bunga.
