JAKARTA - Mark Sungkar, a suspect in the corruption case of triathlon funds, escaped from the detention of the Gebung Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia on Wednesday night, May 5. Now the father of Zaskia and Shireen Sungkar is officially a city prisoner.

Mark Sungkar, who is the General Chair of the Indonesian Triathlon Federation (PPFTI) Central Executive, was arrested for being accused of being a corruption case. This senior actor was charged with corruption related to the triathlon sports fund which caused the loss of the state worth Rp. 649.9 million. In his indictment, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) said that Mark Sungkar made a fictitious report related to the 2018 Asian Games national plate funding activities.

Exiting the Kejari Building wearing a white shirt and white cap, Mark Sungkar is endlessly grateful. Through the media, Mark expressed his gratitude, because the suspension of his detention was granted.

"Be grateful, at the same time I thank all my friends, friends of high officials and neighbors. Also my wife, and all my family who pray, who try to reduce my burden so that I am no longer detained inside, become an outside prisoner," said Mark Sungkar.

1. Suspension of Detainees for Elderly

The 72-year-old actor filed for a suspension of detention on the grounds of his old age. Health reasons also reinforce the suspension. Especially during his time as a prisoner, Mark Sungkar was exposed to Covid-19.

2. Child Guaranteed

Mark Sungkar said that his two children were the guarantor for city prisoners. Zaskia and Shireen Sungkar became guarantor for him. "Yes, my child (who guarantees the suspension of detention), only two are women, Shireen and Zaskia," said Mark Sungkar.

3. Children will not pick them up

Despite being the guarantor for his father, Zaskia and Shireen Sungkar did not come to pick up Mark Sungkar's departure. Only his wife, Santi Saloka Mala, seemed enthusiastic to pick up and accompany him. Apparently it was Mark Sungkar's request. "Indeed I forbid (Shireen and Zaskia from picking up)," said Mark Sungkar after leaving the Kejari Building.
