JAKARTA - The trial of the alleged drug abuse case that again ensnared musician Fariz RM was held again at the South Jakarta District Court, today, Thursday, July 10.
Fariz RM's attorney, Deolipa Yumara, said that at this trial his party presented an expert witness who is a former head of BNN. He hopes that through this expert witness, Fariz RM can get rehabilitation.
"So today's agenda regarding the trial of Fariz Rm is that we propose expert witnesses, namely the former head of BNN, that is an expert witness who understands the laws and regulations of narcotics and science about rehabilitation. So just one expert witness," said Deolipa Yumara before the trial.
Not without reason, Deolipa is trying to get rehabilitation for Fariz RM for believing that his client as a user is not a dealer.

"What is explored is about the laws and regulations regarding narcotics and then the second is about rehabilitation procedures, that's it. There are various kinds of rehabilitation procedures including the laws, including the basics, the rules," said Deolipa.
"Because this is only a user, so it's rehabilitation now. So what is strengthened is regarding the law or the legal basis for rehabilitation," he said.
Seeing this, Fariz RM could only leave all decisions to the ongoing trial process.
"I just believe in this legal process," said Fariz RM.
Previously, Fariz RM was charged with being with Andres Deni Kristyawan distributing methamphetamine and marijuana. This is Fariz's fourth time dealing with drugs again.
For his actions, Fariz was charged with violating Article 114 paragraph (1) or Article 112 paragraph (1) and Article 111 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
Article 114 of the Narcotics Law itself reads,
"Everyone who without rights or against the law offers to sell, sell, buy, accept, become an intermediary in buying and selling, exchanging, or handing over Narcotics Category I, shall be sentenced to life imprisonment or imprisonment for a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 20 years.
The defendant could also be subject to fines ranging from IDR 1 billion to a maximum of IDR 10 billion.
