JAKARTA - The moment of school holidays is a time that many families have been waiting for to travel and spend time together. Welcoming this period in 2025, the Ministry of Tourism is intensifying socialization of Circulars related to safe, comfortable, and memorable tourism activities during school holidays.
This step is taken so that local governments, tourism business actors, and related associations can work together in providing quality tourism experiences for the community. The Minister of Tourism expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Home Affairs for the coordination space given to his party for direct dialogue with regional heads from all provinces and regencies/cities in Indonesia.
The statement was made at the "2025 School Holiday Coordination Meeting" which took place online on Monday (23/6). During the meeting, the Expert Staff of the Menparekraf for Bureaucratic Reform and Regulation, Widiyanti, explained that the school holiday season was the peak period for community movement and increased economic activities, especially in the tourism sector.
However, the surge in tourist mobility also brings potential risks that need to be carefully anticipated, ranging from safety aspects, preparedness for disasters, to the management of visitor density.
A circular submitted by the Ministry of Tourism contains directions to local governments to implement CHSE standards (Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability), as well as adopt risk management-based approaches in tourism business management. In addition, cross-sector collaboration is also emphasized for the smooth implementation of tourism activities during school holidays.
Tourism site managers are also asked to improve services to tourists, ensure the implementation of SOPs and work safety protocols (K3), and pay attention to the safety of rides, especially those with high risk. Continuous management and preparedness for potential disturbances are also important points in the circular letter.

Furthermore, destination managers are advised to actively convey information to visitors, either through direct information boards or digital platforms, and ensure the availability of a proper rest area for drivers and tourists.
Widiyanti also reminded the public to comply with regulations in tourist destinations, understand possible risks, and access educational modules related to CHSE and disaster management.
He invited the public to play a role in creating safe and comfortable destinations by maintaining cleanliness, reporting the current situation, and maintaining a conducive atmosphere at tourist sites.
"Collaboration between the central, regional governments, industry players, and the community is the main key to creating orderly, safe, and child-friendly tourist destinations, especially during school holidays," said Widiyanti.
Meanwhile, the Deputy for Destination Development and Infrastructure of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Hariyanto, added that the circular letter was also equipped with 22 risk mitigation guide modules.
"Please pay close attention to these modules. Apart from being a technical reference, these modules can also be used as a reference to improve the readiness and quality of destinations, especially during the 2025 school holiday period," explained Hariyanto.
