JAKARTA - Suga BTS officially completed his mandatory military service on June 21. Two days later, he was revealed to have participated in the establishment of the Autism Therapy Center at Yonsei Severance Hospital.

Monday, June 23, Yonsei Severance Hospital representatives announced Suga donated 5 billion Won or equivalent to Rp59 billion to build the therapy center. Later, the treatment center will focus on patients with autism.

On the same day, they announced the Center for Therapy was named Min Yoon Gi Treatment Center which uses Suga's real name. The center will provide support to mental health for children and adolescents through various language, psychological, and behavioral therapy programs.

In November last year, Suga met Professor Chun Geun Ah as Head of the Department of Child and Youth Psychiatry and discussed treatment centers to support the development of autism children for 10 years.

The two of them also collaborated to make use of music-based social skills training entitled MIND. MIND's name was chosen because it is an acronym for several words related to social relations and diversity.

"I sincerely thank Suga not only for her financial support but also for the sincere contribution of her talents and voluntary work she has shown over the past few months," said Professor Chun Geun Ah.

"The main goal of Min Yoon Gi's Center for Maintenance and MIND's program is to help children with autism spectrum disorders grow into independent individuals and healthy members of society through music, and, thus, to break down prejudices and raise awareness about autism spectrum disorders," he explained.

"Over the past seven months preparing the program and volunteering with Professor Chun Geun Ah, I am well aware that music can be a valuable channel for expressing one's heart and communicating with the world," Suga said.

Suga designed this program in the midst of his mandatory military service which ended on June 21. He became a member of BTS who completed his military duties.
