JAKARTA - The Ministry of Culture attended the 2025 Cannes Film Festival as a form of Indonesia's commitment to boosting the growth of the national film industry on the global film stage. A series of proud works of filmmakers and producers in the country were introduced to film stakeholders as promising works of art.

Not only showing the identity, identity, and culture of the Indonesian nation on the global stage, the works brought also show the readiness of Indonesian filmmakers to compete at the world level.

Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Fadli Zon together with several filmmakers and film producers attended the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, the biggest film festival in the world, a prestigious event for film people from all over the world. Menbud was present with the Deputy Minister of Culture, Giring Ganesha and several representatives of actors to well-known directors.

During his visit to Cannes, Menbud Fadli Zon also visited Villages International, a global collaboration room featuring the film industry of more than 90 countries.

"Here I meet many filmmakers and film producers who come from Indonesia whose works have gone global. Various Indonesian films that are also present in Cannes, such as Pangku, Renoir, Sleep No More, Ikatan Darah, Timur, to Jumbo show that Indonesia's film ecosystem is getting stronger," he concluded.

In addition, animation IPs, such as Bandits of Batavia, Locust, and Jitu which will take part in Spotlight Asia in Cannes, show that Indonesia is ready to become a major player in the global creative industry and raise local Indonesian stories.

The Ministry of Culture is committed to encouraging the growth of the national film ecosystem.

"Collaboration is needed with various parties, both local governments, communities, and the private sector. One of the effective schemes in encouraging the achievement of a tough film ecosystem is the Public Private Partnership (PPP) scheme that involves all parties," said Menbud Fadli Zon.
