Wika Salim Acting In The Film 'Investigating Dangdut', Becomes An Opie Kumis Pair

JAKARTA - Singer Wika Salim became one of the players in the film Suddenly Dangdut. Directed by Monty Tiwa, he admitted that he was interested in joining because this film was related to the genre he sang.

"One is because the dangdut suddenly. Because the dangdut singer is invited to participate," Wika Salim said at a press conference in South Jakarta on Wednesday, April 9.

He said that at first he refused to join because he was not confident in his acting, even though he played a dangdut singer. However, he was happy to meet and work with other film players.

"Actually, I don't want to because I don't feel good because the players are cool, but Mr. Indra (Sudden Dangdut producer) convinced me to try. I played to the office," said Wika Salim.

"After knowing the story, it's really good," he said again.

Wika Salim plays Tata, a woman who works as a dangdut singer under the single orchestra owned by Babeh Romli, played by Opie Kumis. He is also competing with dangdut singer who has just started, Naya (Anya Geraldine).

"I am a Tata who is also a widow and has one child who must be supported alone. His role also exists thanks to Mr. Monty," said Wika again.

"But Anya Geraldine shouldn't be a dangdut singer, it's true that it will be distributed to me," he said jokingly.

Apart from Wika Salim, the film Suddenly Dangdut is also played by Anya Geraldine, Keanu Angelo, Fajar Nugra, Adi Sudirja, Sadha Triyudha, Calvin Jeremy, Joshua Pandelaki, Dwi Sasono, and many others.

Dangdut's sudden film will hit Indonesian cinemas starting April 30.
