Drama Korea School 2020 Cancel Airing On KBS

JAKARTA - Awaited by many viewers, KBS announced that today, April 14, the drama School 2020 will be canceled. This is related to the issue of casting the female lead, Ahn Seo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron.

Initially, the female lead was offered to Ahn Seo Hyun. He immediately confirmed and would compete acting with Kim Yo Han. But a few moments later, without Seo Hyun knowing, the position was also given to Kim Sae Ron.

Seo Hyun is reported to have carried out pre-production processes such as script reading with the School 2020 team, but the production team is secretly looking for a replacement female lead. This was conveyed by Seo Hyun through his statement; "I spent quite a long time with the director and production team for School 2020. But my departure had to be like this because of an unimaginable situation."

Seo Hyun even had time to upload a photo of the script reading with Kim Yo Han and the director on his Instagram account.

Seo Hyun's father also expressed his disappointment that his son had been preparing for this role since last year. This role was offered by director Han Sang Woo in May 2019 and Seo Hyun did not take up another drama offer because he preferred to focus on School 2020.

The final contract for the drama also hasn't been signed by Seo Hyun. According to his father, the production team had changed three times and every time they asked about the contract, the production team only asked for patience to wait.

Quoted from Soompi, his father thought the production team had deliberately not shown the contract so that his son would resign by himself.

"We don't want to win this dispute. We just want a sincere apology, ”Ahn Seo Hyun's father told OSEN.

On the other hand, the School 2020 production team rejected Ahn Seo Hyun's father's statement and said the contract was canceled due to the many requests from his father. According to them, Seo Hyun's father's request was beyond ability and excessive. The decision to write off Seo Hyun's name has also been discussed with the actress's representatives.

Apart from Sae Ron and Seo Hyun, Eunseo from the WJSN group also received an offer for another main character with Kim Yo Han. School 2020 will be part of the School Series after School 2017 starring Kim Sejeong and Kim Jung Hyun. Initially, the drama was scheduled to air in August but KBS as the main television channel canceled it.

Since School Series is a Korean drama part of KBS, it is not known whether this drama will be broadcast on other television channels or not.
