JAKARTA - Following a running event is not only to channel hobbies or health. Running events can also be used to channel concern for underprivileged and unlucky people.

One of them is by participating in the Run4U running event organized by the Catholic Professionals and Businessmen of the Jakarta Archdiocese (PUKAT KAJ). This is a daily run that invites people to live healthier lives by running or walking, while participating in raising donations for various activities of the Humanitarian Movement.

This year the Run4U event is held for the seventh time, with the theme of Greater Concern for Weak and Poor in accordance with the Basic Direction of KAJ 2025.

This theme was raised to invite the congregation of the Catholic Church and the wider community to care more about brothers who often feel left behind and give up, lack or even do not have access to the resources needed to meet the basic needs of life.

"In Run4U, we speak, inviting us to realize faith. One of them is paying more attention to our less fortunate brothers and sisters," said Ignatius Cardinal Suharyo, Bishop of the Archdiocese of Jakarta, at the Cathedral Church, Central Jakarta, on Monday, March 10, 2025.

The Tri Asih Foundation and the Sant Community "Egidio" are two institutions that are targeted for the 2025 Run4U donation. The Tri Asih Foundation has a focus on rehabilitating and disability of children with visual impairments and has special needs with the help of adequate professionals.

The Sant'Egidio Community itself has a focus on embracing the brothers and sisters who are sidelined and in need. This includes the elderly, homeless, migrants, people with disabilities, prisoners and street children.

"We invite Catholics and people to live a healthy life and show concern for brothers and sisters in need," said Alexzander Zaputra Tedja, Chairman of the Run4U Committee.

Meanwhile, this event will be held on June 1, 2025, at the BSD City QBIG, with three categories, namely a distance of 2.5 km, 5 km, and 10 km. Tickets to participate in this running event have been opened since March 15, 2025.
