JAKARTA - The latest film by Timotchalamet, A Complete Unknown, officially opens in Indonesian cinemas. This film is the story of musician Bob Dylan who evolved in a genre and cultural manner.

Apart from Chalamet, this film is also played by Scoot McNairy, Monica Barbaro, Edward Norton, and directed by James Mangold. Thanks to this film, Timoth Total Chalamet won the Best Actors Cup at Screen Actors Guild 2025.

The film A Complete Unknown set in New York in the early 60s, A Complete Unknown tells the story of a 19-year-old musician from Minnesota, Bob Dylan (Timoth total Chalamet), starting his career as one of the most popular folk singers.

Bob Dylan went to New York to meet his idol, Woody totaling (Scoot McNairy) who was sick same as him. He met at the hospital with Pete Seeger (Edward Norton) and Dylan sang one of the songs he made for the idol.

Then, Pete invited Dylan to live with his family and explore the music world in New York. Once upon a time, Dylan met Sylvie Russo (Elle Fanning) at the concert and they started a relationship.

Bob Dylan also started appearing on the music stage to amaze Albert Grossman (Dan Fogler), a music executive and manager. Dylan started working on his solo album but was forced by his record label to record cover songs.

As a result, album sales were bad and frustrated Dylan. On the other hand, his relationship with Sylvie also didn't go well while Sylvie was about to go to Europe.

Dylan started working on his music while close to Joan Baez (Monica Barbario), the musician he met on the previous stage. They began to get close and establish a good relationship between music and personal, which Sylvie suspected.

Sylvie and Dylan broke up, but he focused on his music which started to hit a stalemate. As a result, the tour with Baez was destroyed, his music career was also stuck until he came out in the middle of his performance.

Bob Dylan thinks at one point that he wants to experiment with his music, get out of his comfort zone and start changing the folk genre.

This is a story about a certain moment in a person's life, not his whole life. It's also about a world where so much is communicated through songs," James Mangold said of his latest film.

A Complete Unknown has received 8 nominations at the Academy Awardsmen'smen's event, including the best film, best director for James Mangold, and best actor for Timoth Total Chalamet.
