Government Encourages Efforts To Preserve Indonesian Children's Songs

This was conveyed at the Announcement of the Winner of the Cipta Karya Song Learning Early Childhood (Kitting) on Sunday, February 2.

Abdul Mu'ti stated that the change in the children's song genre is one of the reasons for the importance of renewal in the songs consumed by Indonesian children.

"We often joked, the children used to sing 'I have five balons', now the singing is 'calculation day'. In the past, the singing was 'how beautiful are you', now the singing is 'there is a rainbow in your eyes'," he said.

As part of this effort, the Minister of Education and Culture revealed that his party held a tweet competition to produce songs that can instill character values, love for the homeland, love for nature, and other noble characters in children.

In the event, 10 children's songs were announced as winners of about 400 songs that had been contested. Winners' songs will be compiled on one album.

"Then I have also asked the committee not to win later, and we can compile it again so that the song is not only 10, but hopefully it can be 20 or more than that," he added.

Abdul Mu'ti juga menyampaikan bahwa lagu-lagu pemenang akan ditayangkan di YouTube dan laman web Kemendikdasmen. Selain itu, lagu-lagu tersebut akan disebarluaskan dalam bentuk yang mudah diakses, agar sosialisasi kepada TK, PAUD, dan layanan pendidikan anak usia dini lainnya bisa dilakukan lebih mudah dan efisien.

Direktur Jenderal Guru, Tenaga Kependidikan, dan Pendidikan Guru Kemendikdasmen, Nunuk Suryani, mengatakan bahwa kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memperbanyak koleksi lagu anak-anak Indonesia sekaligus menjadi media pembelajaran yang menyenangkan bagi para pendidik PAUD, terutama dalam mengajarkan mata pelajaran seperti matematika dan berhitung.

Nunuk also added that the winner of the competition will get Intellectual Property Rights (HAKI) as an award for the songs created.

Through this activity, Nunuk hopes that the songs produced can have a positive impact on the development of Indonesian children.
