TOP Was Worried About Acting In Squid Game 2, The Character Is Too Similar

JAKARTA - TOP or Choi Seung Hyun opened his voice for the first time in 11 years. Through an interview, the former member of the BIGBANG group revealed his involvement in the Squid Game 2 series.

TOP plays Thanos, one of the participants participating in the Squid Game competition and competes for money. Despite being a supporting character, TOP did not participate in any promotional series either in South Korea or in several other countries.

I first received an audition offer through the production team. To be honest, I was worried when I saw Thanos' character, said TOP about his character quoting the Korea Times.

'Thanos is a cartoonist character. He's a bit stupid, sad, and a failed hip hop loser. He also thinks simply. This character is reflected in the scene when he raps in the middle of the Red Light Green Light game. From that rap scene, the character begins to form," continued TOP

Thanos is a rapper who has been scammed by a man named Lee Myong Gi (played by Im Si Wan). Thanos also likes to intimidate other participants and exercise addiction to the drugs he brings into the Squid Game.

(I am worried) because of past mistakes and the part where I have to face shame. I am very worried, thinking my image will forever be associated with (drugs). But on the other hand I feel given this role like fate," he explained.

Maybe there is a deeper meaning. So I recorded an audition video and sent it to the production team. The director liked it and planned a meeting with me," continued the DONOM DADA singer.

After his name was announced as one of the Squid Game 2 players, controversy and issues began to spread which said that TOP was doing nepotism because it was found to be good friends with actor Lee Byung Hun who played Front Man.

"Compared to feeling guilty, I feel more saddened by the thought that I might harm a big project. I also feel guilty to the actors who have misunderstood because of me," said TOP

He is also aware of mixed responses to his character and acting in Squid Game 2. He admitted that he was ready to accept all the criticisms that were sent to him.

"I believe, feeling like and dislike for the character is something I have to accept. This is not my position to talk at will about it, so I just accept it," said TOP
