Jeju Air (ANTARA) Airplane Accident

JAKARTA - The Jeju Air accident at Muan International Airport made South Koreans grieve. A number of Korean entertainment events were canceled after the accident.

A Jeju Air passenger plane carrying 181 people crashed in the Muan area, southwest of South Korea on Sunday, December 29.

The accident killed 179 people, with two others rescued. This is the deadliest flight accident ever to occur on South Korean soil and is the third accident with the highest death toll involving South Korean airlines.

The TV station responded quickly by canceling entertainment events. Initially the MBC Entertainment Awards 2024 will broadcast the moment of the red carpet on its show. However, after the accident the program was declared canceled.
