The Role Of Buya Hamka's Mother, Desy Ratnasari Wants To Spread Inspiration To The Audience

JAKARTA - Desy Ratnasari portrays safiyah, Abdul Karim Amrullah's second wife and Buya Hamka's mother. For Desy buya hamka film is so special because the main character in this film is a national hero.

"Hopefully this film can relive the history and life journey of Buya Hamka as a leading National Figure and inspire its audience," Desy wrote on Instagram @desyratnasariterdepan quoted Wednesday, April 14.

For this role, Desy Ratnasari admitted that he had difficulty when he had to talk to the dialect of Padang, West Sumatra. Because Desy Ratnasari was originally born and raised in Sukabumi, West Java, he was more in control of sundanese bahada.

"I definitely experienced language challenges in Buya Hamka," said Desy Ratnasari at Kwikku Fest 2021, April 13.

To solve the problem, Desy learned to pronounce padang dialect before filming. "I was given 2 language trainers who taught padang dialect and language during filming," said Desy Ratnasari.

This is the film that brought Desy Ratnasari back to the big screen. Before entering politics, Desy last acted in Kun Fayakuun (2008).
