JAKARTA - Putri Marino competed acting with Happy Salma to play in her first horror mystery genre film titled Ransom Sina. In this film, Putri Marino will play the character of a podcaster named Tirta.
During an exclusive interview with VOI, Putri tried to explain more deeply regarding Tirta's ambition.
"So I'm here to play Tirta. Tirta is a podcaster who might say Tirta has ambitions. I have ambitions to go viral around him. And he sees, oh, it seems that Mbak Wening's story can be made viral by Tirta," said Putri Marino at the VOI office, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, last Friday, September 27.
First time playing in a mystery horror genre film, Putri Marino admitted that she had doubts about herself. But finally with confidence in the scenario given and the director of Anggi Noen, Putri Marino tried to give up.
"If it's difficult, there must be. Because the first one is my first horror mystery film. I've never played this genre. So the beginning is pretty good, I can't do it, can't it. But I believe because the script is already very detailed. The director is also Mas Anggi Noen, who I know very well during reading he is very detailed with everything the character, dialogue, the formation of the character of each actor he is very detailed," said Putri Marino.
In addition, Putri Marino also said that the first time she filmed horror had made her afraid to adapt to the shooting process that she had never done before.
"At first I was afraid. At first it was quite like I could or not adjust to all the things I've never experienced before because in drama films it would be like this but in horror mystery films it would be like this," explained Putri Marino.
"But I am very grateful that all the cast and crew work together very well, so the shock culture doesn't make it traumatized or make it look like I'm shaking my head like I don't want to play movies like this anymore, there's nothing like that," he explained.
Putri Marino cannot deny that playing as Tirta in her first horror mystery genre film is her experience to get out of her comfort zone.
The reason is that he has to deal with scenes that are one of the challenging scenes for himself in this film.

"Maybe a lot actually. Because this horror mystery genre is the first time I've done it. So maybe almost 50% are out of the comfort zone," he continued.
"In the trailer there is a Tirta scene where he does see blood coming down from the ceiling of the room. That's probably one of the challenging scenes for me. Because we do it for almost a day to do a scene at home," he said.
Putri Marino admits that she is one of the actors who has almost tried various film genres in Indonesia. For Putri, this challenges her to getting out of her comfort zone.
"In my opinion, maybe each genre has its own difficulties and why did I finally decide to take the mystery horror genre that has never been possible in my imagination, I think it would be like that if I wanted to take this genre," said Putri Marino.
"I want to get out of my comfort zone. I want to try again like when I was shooting Possessive, it felt like oh it was shooting a film like this I wanted to feel it again oh it turned out to be like this and that's how I felt when filming the Sina Ransom," he said.
Even so, the mother of one child admitted that she did not have a special way to adapt when she was trusted to act in the various genres offered.
Putri prefers to believe in the power of the scenario and the director who will guide her in playing the characters inside.
"If there is no significant adaptation, because I really believe in the power of the script and the strength of the director who will be able to help me adapt to certain genres, so it is true that there is no special preparation," explained Putri Marino.
Uniquely, Putri has her own way of being able to enter the genre that she will play, one of which is by preparing a playlist before filming.
"But maybe if I prepare each film, I only prepare playlists for myself, so every film I prepare my own playlist. I leave the rest to the process and yes, the reading process, the self-introductory process for the character and the director too," he continued.
Not just acting, the wife of Chicco Jerikho feels that playing across genres is a momentum for her to hone her acting skills until now.
Through across genres, he felt he had the opportunity to meet the director to the great players who added to his acting level.
"Maybe if for me as an actor my expertise in continuing to learn to hone my acting skills is getting honed because in my opinion the more genres I have to learn, the more scripts I have to read the more I meet great directors, great players, collaborate with them, my strength as an actor, every project can increase by one bar," added Putri Marino.
"So I still see that every project of any genre is a forum for me to develop further," he explained.
Therefore, Putri Marino adheres to the principle of always playing her character with heart and sincerity which for her is an introduction to her career to this point.
"Maybe it's simple, always playing with your heart, always playing sincerely, always being able to listen to the director, listening to play partners, listening to yourself," concluded Putri Marino.
