Indonesian Citizens Will Get Health Screening Notifications On Birthdays

The health-related screening notification seems to be being intensified by the Ministry of Health massively to the public.

This step is considered a promotive and preventive health effort, one of which is on the birthday of each resident.

The Director General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices at the Ministry of Health, Dr. dr. Lucia Rizka Andalucia, in Kendal Regency, Central Java, Tuesday, said that the activity of intensifying health screening was carried out during the anniversary of each resident.

"We will 'launch' screening (health, ed) on our birthday. So, every citizen on his birthday will be given a notification," he said as quoted by Antara.

The notification, which was sent via cell phone (cellphone), basically asked the person concerned to conduct a health screening at the nearest health care facility.

"Your notification today was asked to screen at the puskesmas, or the nearest health facility from your home, this is planned to be like that," he said giving a little leak of the program.

According to him, the health screening was free of charge, or free of charge, because the government would bear it.

He admitted, the Ministry of Health through health facilities services will increase health screening to the public, both degenerative and infectious diseases.

He said screening as a promotive and preventive health effort was much more effective at suppressing health costs that swelled with curative or treatment efforts.

"We will further intensify screening to prevent disease, so as not to get sick, so that our health costs do not run out for (steps, ed.) curative. So, health costs are more promotive and preventive," he said.

Moreover, he said, the highest health costs borne by the state so far are due to degenerative diseases, especially kidney failure and diabetes mellitus, which are increasingly sufferers at an increasingly young age.

"The highest health cost is for kidney failure and which is caused by diabetes mellitus, and now the age (suffering, ed.) is getting younger for diabetes mellitus," said Lucia.

To support massive health screening, which is one of President Prabowo Subianto's programs, he said, of course, each health facility will be more equipped with medical equipment.
