JAKARTA - Novel Pengin Hijrah has been released in the Indonesia International Book Fir (IIBF) 2024. This Novel Pengin Hijrah will be adapted into a feature film by the production house of Sinemata Buana Kreasindo (SBK) Productions. Budi Yulianto, Executive Producer of SBK Productions, said the novel is currently being developed into a scenario.

"The title of the novel Pengin Hijrah is also a way for SBK Productions to popularize the film story that will be produced with the same title, Pengin Hijrah," explained Budi Yulianto in a media statement, Monday, October 14.

The process of ecranization or transfer of research rides is interesting when many popular novels produce box-office films, best-selling films. This expansion process has actually been going on since the beginning of the visual audio works. Likewise in Indonesia, pop novels, contemporary and classical, are often transformed into films.

Budi added that the event at IIBF 2024 will be the right event for SBK Productions to introduce plans for the production of the latest film SBK Productions. Pengin Hijrah will be produced into film works in 2024 and is planned to be released in 2025.

Pengin Hijrah is an original story written by Budi Yulianto himself before developing his story by Endik Koeswoyo. Next, Benni Setiawan completed it into a film scenario. SBK Productions collaborated with Jastis Arimba as director and Avesina Soebli as the Executive of the production of the film Pengin Hijrah which had been involved in several novel films, such as Laskar Pelangi and its sequel, Paper Boat, June Rain, Thousand River Window.

SBK Productions previously entrusted the writing of the novel Pengin Hijrah to Hengki Kumayandi. The production house fully submits novel stories based on Hengki's interpretation. Even if there is input, it is about the location set of the incident and the main characters in the novel.
