JAKARTA - The Kura-kura Ijo production house will soon release their latest film entitled Pulung Suspension which will be directed by Adriansyah.

The film Pulung Suspension is a film inspired by real events, especially a series of suicides that rocked Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta.

The residents of Gunung Kidul who adhere to this myth believe that the phenomenon of suicide by hanging themselves comes from Pulung hanging.

Adriansyah said that this mystery genre film will also be a criticism of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) for the statement that the suicide phenomenon in the Gunung Kidul area is a form of cultural heritage.

"It is very inappropriate for a government institution to consider this phenomenon to be a cultural heritage," said Adriansyah in the Mampang Prapatan area, South Jakarta, Monday, September 30.

"In my opinion, the Ministry of Education and Culture has been in a hurry to draw conclusions. This is a mystery that needs to be explored further so that this case does not happen again," he added.

Adriansyah hopes that this film will be able to provide a more logical perspective to the audience regarding the phenomenon.

"As a filmmaker as well as a citizen who loves the nation's culture, I have an alternative perspective that should be considered more rationally," said Adriansyah.

"In this film, I try to explore the theme through the myths circulating in the people of Gunung Kidul, in addition to mystery and suicide," he explained.
