Promote Social Concern, SKIPI Water Run 2024 5K Followed By A Thousand Participants

JAKARTA IPEKA Puri Christian School held SKIPI Water Run which is a 5KM fun run event for the public. Held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, SKIPI Water Run was attended by around 1,000 participants from internal IPEKA and the general public.

SKIPI Water Run is one of a series of SKIPIJAM activities in commemoration of IPEKA's 45th Anniversary. SKIPIJAM is an annual activity that is routinely carried out by IPEKA Puri Christian High School students and has entered its 16th year.

This year, apart from SKIPI Water Run, SKIPIJAM also held various activities such as bazaars, workshops, social services, and SKIPI Cup, namely talent and talent competitions between high school and junior high school students in Jakarta. The series of SKIPIJAM events were prepared by grade 12 students, with the support of volunteers from grade 10 and 11, teachers, as well as employees of IPEKA Puri Christian School.

This year, SKIPIJAM also held social activities such as Low-cost Markets that help the community by providing basic daily materials at affordable prices. In this activity, the community is also provided with free health checking services in collaboration with Mandaya Royal Hospital and Ciputra Hospital.

In addition, SKIPIJAM is also working with Plasticpay to present a Dropbox or Reverse Vending Machine that can exchange plastic waste for money. This cooperation program can increase community initiatives, especially students, to help maintain environmental cleanliness.

The head of IPEKA Puri Christian High School, Vivianti Kristanto Jacob, said, "Actually, education does not only produce students who excel academically, but also build good character and have noble character. Through this SKIPIJAM series, students are expected to have a sporty competition spirit, love the environment, and social concern for the community," said Vivianti.

SKIPI Water Run has an on-road route around the Puri Indah area by starting and finishing at the IPEKA Puri Christian School. In order to ensure the smooth running of the event, SKIPI Water Run cooperates with local police, Koramil, Transportation Service and Environmental Service for the sanitary facilities of participants. In addition, 4 ambulances and medical personnel from the local hospital were also alerted to serve the medical needs of runners during the activity.

The chairman of the SKIPIJAM Committee, Steven Adriel Sugiharto, from the 12th grade of IPA 1, expressed his hope for this event. "The series of SKIPIJAM 16 activities is expected to make the school proud and an impressive and unforgettable moment for all participants. At the same time, with so many activities and self-development activities, we believe that SKIPIJAM 16 can be a channel for the talents of students who will be a blessing to others." he said.

Participants who take part in the SKIPI Water Run only need to pay for tickets for IDR 200,000 per person. Each participant will get medals, jerseys, bags, water and refreshments, and a race bid. Not only that, attractive doors prizes are also provided for SKIPI Water Run participants.

Apart from Fun Run, the series of events that day were also enlivened by various performances of IPEKA Puri students from kindergarten to high school. Then there are also Zumba Class, Talkshow, and Band Performance.
