JAKARTA - The Indonesian contingent wore traditional Javanese clothing at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics which was designed by Didit Hediprasetyo. The Indonesian Contingent Uniform was officially released via the @timodonesiaofficial Instagram account, on Friday, July 26.

The description explains that the uniform design is inspired by the figure of Raden Saleh. Raden Saleh's life is a reflection of the revival of the Indonesian people in the international arena.

Through this design, the single son of Probowo Subianto hopes to display the form of pride and resilience of Indonesia. He also wants the athletes who compete to show their best side through the uniforms he designed.

"My hope is to create designs that are a form of pride, passion, and resilience of our nation. At the same time ensure that every athlete appears and becomes the best of them when competing on the world stage," said Didit.

In the uploaded photo, several representatives of athletes and public figures were also lined up as an introducing model. Among them are Indonesian swimming athletes, Joe Aditya and Zahra Permatahani, as well as Nicholas Saputra and Marissa Anita.

The uniform is a beskap-style shirt for men and a red kebaya model tops for women. The boss is juxtaposed with white trousers.

The material used to beskap resembles a denim, which gives a modern impression, and is equipped with a red and white line on its arm. Men also wore blank accessories, which add to the cultural elements of Java, Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Paris 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony will be held on Friday, July 26 local time. The event will be held at the Senine River, Paris, France.
