Putri Marino's Tips to Mix and Match Kebaya to Look Stylish and Polite

JAKARTA - Celebrity Putri Marino has her own meaning toward kebaya as an actress. For her, kebaya is not just clothing but also a story and emotion in the role she plays.

"In the world of acting, kebaya is not just clothing, it is a character that implies stories and emotions and depth, giving a new dimension to the role played," said Putri Marino at the Kebaya Kala Kini Film Press Conference in Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, July 23.

Next, the Gadis Kretek series player tries to share how to mix and match kebaya with contemporary styles.

For everyday activities, Putri suggests wearing trousers made from wide fabric to make it easier to move and combining them with a tank top and kebaya for outerwear.

"Oh okay, maybe there are two, the first is that it is comfortable and can be worn every day, maybe the bottom can wear cloth trousers and maybe cloth trousers that are a bit wider so that it is more comfortable to move in or maybe jeans," she explained.

"Then wear your favorite kebaya on top, if you really want something less formal, you can wear a tank top underneath and you can open the kebaya as an outer," she explained.

For the second method, the wife of Chicco Jerikho suggests using a kemben that is suitable to be combined with a top or clothes that match the kemben itself.

"Then secondly, if you want to be more beautiful, more feminine, you can wear a batik kemben like that and the kemben doesn't always have to be tied, which is what you say, tight. So you can tie it according to your reference and then wear a kebaya," she said.

Bakti Budaya Djarum Foundation released a short film entitled Kebaya Kala Kini which collaborated with Dian Sastrowardoyo and Putri Marino as the actors. This film itself will be shown specifically on the Indonesia Kaya YouTube channel starting July 24.
