JAKARTA - The Badarawuhi Film In Penari Village will air in America starting April 26, 2024. The news was announced by Lionsgate at the Badarawuhi premier gala event in Penari Village on April 4 at Studio IMAX MCA, Westfield Century City, Los Angeles.

In America, the film, directed by Kimo Stamboel, will change its title to Dancing Village: The Curse Begin.

"On April 26, 2024, it will air in America. The strategy is from Lionsgate, the timing is indeed waiting from airing in Indonesia," said Manoj Punjabi, producer and CEO of MD Pictures to reporters in Los Angeles, America.

The screening of the film Dancing Village: The Curse Begin in America materialized after MD Pictures collaborated with Lionsgate.

Manoj is optimistic that Indonesian films can be in the spotlight of the world because they have great potential in the international market. According to him, Badarawuhi In Penari Village is the first step to run another project.

"Yes (opening the gate). This is a start that I did build a bridge between Indonesia and America. This is something we are waiting for. If this film goes, other Indonesian films will also open their doors, it's good to bring our films," said Manoj Punjabi.

"This is the beginning, something that can be heard, can be announced. I hope this is broad, but more hope is that it wants to go slowly but my strategy is even bigger," explained Manoj.

Manoj also proved his seriousness by holding a premier gala event at MCA Westfield Century City, Los Angeles, United States. The goal is for Americans to see the seriousness of the Badarawubi team in Penari Village.

"This is Lionsgate, people want to release films easily but how do they do it? Want a big one or a proper one to break through or just want to release a film but there is no value," explained Manoj Punjabi.

"The preparation was extraordinary. 40 people from MD came, we didn't come empty-handed. We came up with a strategy. We didn't have Ece-ece to come here," concluded Manoj Punjabi.

Previously, the Gala Premier Badarawuhi event In Penari Village received a lively welcome from Americans. The enthusiasm of the audience was seen when several players and directors arrived at the red carpet.

Even unexpectedly, invited guests came over the bench provided in the IMAX studio of MCA Westfield cinema, Century City, Los Angeles. The audience exploded because they couldn't wait to watch the film Dancing Village: The Curse Begins which was adapted from the true story of Simpleman.

In Indonesia, the film Badarawuhi Di Desa Penari will air on April 11, 2024.
