JAKARTA - Mariah Carey's brother Morgan Carey sued the pop star for the defamation and emotional suffering resulting from the publication of the memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey.

Launching Variety, Thursday, March 4, Morgan's lawsuit was filed in a New York court yesterday. The contents of the memoir were declared false and slander.

The memoir of The Meaning of Mariah Carey was first released in September 2020. This book contains Mariah Carey's journey where she presents several new facts, such as the recording of the grunge album, marriage to Tommy Mottola, including her family life.

He said Morgan's fight with his father changed Morgan's character. In fact, Mariah likened their childhood to the fairy tale of the Three Little Pigs.

“I never felt safe. I'm never safe. His (Morgan) anger was unpredictable. I never know when his anger will arise, ”wrote Mariah.

He explained that due to the trauma, he hoped that the public would call Morgan 'Mariah's former brother' not 'Mariah's brother'.
