The Biopic Series Ellyas Pical Releases March 21, Presenting An Inspirational Story Of Indonesian Boxing Legends

JAKARTA - Falcon Pictures in collaboration with Prime Video presents a biopic series from Indonesian boxing legend Ellyas Pical. The series will premiere March 21 in 240 countries.

The six-episode series will present Ellyas Pical's journey, a child from Saparua, Maluku who has succeeded in achieving glory in a world boxing event and is the pride of Indonesia.

Meanwhile, Denny Sumargo was appointed to play Ellyas Pical in this series. Herwin Novianto as the director said the former professional basketball player was the most appropriate actor to play Ellyas' character.

"Because boxing is a pretty difficult sport, and only Denny has experience as an athlete and also as an actor," said Herwin Novianto about the choice of Denny Sumargo, during a press conference at Falcon Pictures, South Jakarta, Tuesday, March 12.

Herwin said what was produced was very satisfying, although Denny Sumargo had to undergo special training in a relatively long time.

"Three months at the beginning I had intense training with his coach Ellyas, he was still alive. And I was immediately with him trained," said Denny Sumargo.

However, this series not only features Ellyas Pical as a boxing athlete, but also as a child and husband. Christine Hakim plays the mother of Ellyas and Della Dartyan as Ellyas' wife.

"So, this is Ellyas Pical's life journey, which is actually a really drama," said Denny Sumargo.

In addition to the names above, the Ellyas Pical series also stars Yayu Unru, Donny Alamsyah, Darius Sinathrya, lost Alfandy and Parisa Sham. Meanwhile, the scenario was written by Alim Sudio.

Through the Ellyas Pical series, Frederica as the Producer of Falcon Pictures hopes that the journey of the Indonesian boxing legend can inspire many people, as well as make the nation proud in the world arena.
