JAKARTA - Beno ît Delhomme made its directorial debut through the film Mothers’ Instinct. Once known as a cinematographer, Delhomme spreads its wings to the big screen with this thriller film. Its debut also presents an acting combination of two well-known female actresses namely Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain. The film, which takes on the set of the years ‘60s, will highlight the friendship and conflict between them.Mothers’ Instinct is a remake of the French-language film Duelles in 2018 which turns out to be an adaptation of the novel of the same name.The full synopsis of the film Mothers’ Instinct follows:Mothers’ Instit tells Alice (Jessica Chastain) and Celine (Anne Hathaway), two friendly neighbors. They live happily with husband and both have one male who are also good friends at school. Alice and Celine help each other, even when Alice is birthday, Celine and her family work together to make a surprise to Alice. Alice and Celine are also always there for each other when their household problems occur. All that changes after Celine's daughter, Max (Baylen D. Bielitz) died after falling from the balcony of her two homes. Celine became increasingly disappointed when she learned that Alice witnessed the incident and did not rush to help Max there.

Celine little by little started blaming Alice who didn't force her to save her child. Feeling guilty Alice also felt worried about Celine's condition. The condolences began to change Celine's and her husband's life. Her husband became drunk and Celine was grieving more alone. Seeing that situation, Alice and her husband came and tried to help both of them in order to continue their lives. Alice's son, Theo (Eamon Patrick O’Connell) who is the friend of the late Max also tried to entertain Celine who continued to mourn. Theo's presence was a hope for Celine and they became so close that Celine returned to normal. Their closeness, which initially looked beautiful, actually raised the seeds of jealousy and questions for Alice. Alice's feelings began to suspect Celine who tried to be close to Theo. Alice began to find out what she suspected was true. This film was announced for the first time in 2020, but the production only started in 2022 in New Jersey. This thriller psychological drama genre film comes different from the existing thriller film.Mothers’ Instinct will premiere in Indonesian cinema starting Friday, March 8, 2024.
