A Year On, How Are You Doing With Pay, Indra And Bongky's 31F Concert Plan?

JAKARTA - It has been a year since three Slank personnel in formation 13 - Pay, Indra @ and Bongky - sparked the idea of the concert 31F aka Three One Formation. Then, the COVID-19 pandemic stung. What happened to the concert?

In February last year, the virtual world - especially Instagram - was enlivened by news about Pay, Indra Q and Bongky who would hold a concert with a repertoire of songs from the band's first five albums from Gang Potlot.

The first news emerged when bassist Bongky revealed that he, Pay (guitar) and Indra Qadarsih (keyboard) - who is now flying the BIP flag - will perform Slank songs with five to six different vocalists.

"I agree if I, Indra and a few singers singing 1-5 Slank's songs, made an album with the # preF13 tour, who should be a PIC," wrote Bongky on his old Instagram account, which is now no longer active. Since then, the virtual world has been 'rowdy'.

Bongky's post is not mere babbling. Pay and Indra Q also uploaded everything related to the concert plan. Indra was seen re-practicing playing Slank's old songs, including Percuma, Pisah Saja Dulu, and American Style.

Pay has even practiced with Bongky and several additional musicians, one of which is Massto Sidharta (Bimbim's younger brother who is the drummer for Kidnap Katrina). The 31F tracklist reaches 30 tracks.

Amidst the serious preparations for 31F, the COVID-19 pandemic has stung. The music industry was hit badly, concerts were canceled and 31F plans were put on hold.

Now, a year has passed, VOI is trying to contact Pay, asking for further plans for the 31F concert, which is now weakening.

"Yes (the pandemic is not over yet)", Pay told us by telephone, Thursday, February 4.

"There are no plans yet (about continuing the 31F concert)", Pay emphasized.

Pay's answer is of course bad news for Slank fans in the formation of 13 eras. Again, fans' longing to see their youth idols must be delayed.

In recent years, Slank fans have urged Kaka and Bimbim to do Formasi 13 reunion concerts with Pay, Indra Q, and Bongky. The concert seemed far from reality when Bongky sued Slank regarding the butterfly-shaped logo he made, which is still being used by Slank.

However, when Bongky was present at Mother Iffet's birthday celebration at Potlot, fans began to see a bright spot at this reunion concert. However, it then disappeared again because Bimbim and Kaka had never confirmed when the concert would take place.

Bongky, who wanted to treat the fans' disappointment, then intended to hold a 31F concert featuring a number of guest musicians. The plan, they will bring masterpiece songs from the album Suit ... Suit ... He ... He (Gadis Seksi) (1990), Kampungan (1991), Piss (1993), Generasi Biru (1994), and Minoritas (1996).

A little backward, Bongky, Pay, and Indra was fired by Bimbim when Slank worked on the album Lagi Sedih in 1996. In the same year, the three of them then formed BIP (Bongky, Indra, Pay) which was followed up with the release of the debut album Turun dari Langit five years later.
