JAKARTA - Hwasa MAMAMOO will leave her agency at the moment, RBW at the end of this month. This news was confirmed by the agency after a report said Hwasa was looking for a new agency.
"We want to give news that our exclusive contract with Hwasa, which has been working with us until now, will end," said RBW today, Tuesday, June 27.
"After discussing with Hwasa, we agreed to complete our beautiful journey," they continued.
Despite leaving, RBW promised to support MAMAMOO and the four members so that they can continue their careers both individually and in groups.
"We will continue to provide support so that MAMAMOO activities can continue with MOOMOO (MAMAMO fan group name)," said RBW.
"We express our deepest gratitude to Hwasa who shared happiness with us and please provide support to Hwasa who will continue her activities. Thank you," concluded the RBW agency.
RBW released this announcement a few hours after Hwasa was reportedly in discussions to join PSY's agency, P Nation. P Nation confirmed that the discussion had been held but there had been no outcome of the discussion.
"The contract with Hwasa has not been confirmed. It is in discussion," P Nation said on the same day.
Hwasa debuted as a member of MAMAMOO under RBW in 2014. Then she became a solo singer with the first single Twit in 2019. Her career as a successful soloist was followed by appearances in several television shows.
Hwasa became the second member of MAMAMOO to leave RBW after Wheein in 2021. Wheein signed a deal that he would be part of MAMAMOO for at least until December 2023.
