Johnny Depp Has Foot Injured, Hollywood Vampires Postpones Concert Tour

JAKARTA - Actor Johnny Depp suffered an injury to the ankle which caused him to postpone a number of activities. One of them is a solo concert with his band, the Hollywood Vampires, which will start a concert tour.

Depp wrote a statement via his Instagram directly. He has also discussed with the medical authorities so it was decided he would take a break.

"This is happening somewhere between Cannes and Royal Albert Hall. It's getting worse than it's better," Johnny Depp wrote on Monday, May 29.

"Some medical professionals strongly suggest that I avoid all activities for now and unfortunately I can't travel at this time," he said.

Hollywood Vampires is a band consisting of Depp with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry from Aerosmith. The band also shared the news of Depp's injury, so the band postponed three concerts in the United States which were supposed to be held this week.

"Sadly, we convey that the Hollywood Vampires will reschedule three of our US tour schedules next week," the band wrote on the same day.

"Johnny suffered an ankle injury after his recent appearance and was advised by doctors not to travel," they continued.

The Hollywood Vampires plan to continue their tour of Europe next month while several concert dates in the United States will be changed to July. This news was announced after Depp attended the 2023 Cannes Film Festival to promote his latest film, Jeanne du Barry.

This film is his latest work after undergoing a defamation trial against his ex-wife, Amber Heard. He refused to call this project his return to the world of cinema. Nor did he feel boycotted by Hollywood.

"I'm not going anywhere. I'm 45 minutes from here. Maybe people stopped calling it but I'm not going anywhere. I'm sitting relaxed," Johnny Depp said at a press conference.

"Because I don't think about Hollywood. I don't feel the need for Hollywood," he said.
