JAKARTA - Senior actress Desy Ratnasari admitted that one of the challenges she faced when playing in the film Hati Suhita was language. Desy admitted that she spent a lot of time learning the language and dialect of East Java.

Desy plays the character Ummi, who in the story is the founder of one of the Islamic boarding schools in Kediri, East Java, with her husband, so she is required to master the local language and dialect in order to explore character.

"Playing as Ummi is certainly the most challenging thing is the language. My tongue is used to Sundanese and then I have to learn the Javanese language and it takes a mentoring process every time I shoot, it's always a bit bit bit of a tongue," said Desy, quoted from ANTARA, Tuesday, May 16.

He added that the learning process in East Java is one of the things that makes him happy because he can learn new things when undergoing the process of working on films.

Desy explained that every day during the shooting process he was guided by a coach who specifically taught the East Java language and dialect to launch dialects and include several boarding houses in the East Java language into dialogue.

He admitted that he had studied the language and dialect of East Java since the beginning of receiving the contract to play the film Hati Suhita. He continued the training during the shooting process which lasted for almost two months.

Desy's habit of using East Java during the shooting process was carried into her daily life when she spoke with her son and colleagues.

According to Desy, the cultural element that is thick in the film Hati Suhita "can provide lessons to today's young people to better understand the traditions and principles of life that are trusted by the Indonesian people.
