As the title suggests, Home Is Wherever You Are refers to the metaphor of homes that are often used as the ultimate destination of a journey. For Rifan, the journey is a search for a balance of life.
"This is not a real home, but rather an individual I think can give me a feeling like home; someone who makes me feel safe when I return to that person, wherever and whenever I go," Rifan explained in his statement.
The importance of the subject matter of the song is a must for Rifan, because according to him the previous songs tended to have a negative tone.
"I just want to end this chapter in a positive tone," he added.
In addition, he envisions Home Is Wherever You Are as a song that bridges The Unsettled to a new chapter full of hope.
"While I'm not completely calm, I'm now better able to choose the right reaction to any situation. And from now on onwards, I can see a brighter future for me to build from it," he commented.
Home Is Wherever You Are still displays a minimalist feel that is the hallmark of The Unsettled's single. All the musical instruments he recorded himself except for the guitar played by Didin Marlin.
